Frequently Asked Questions
Can you use an AGM thermal during the day?
You can. Thermal imagers read heat, not light, so they work in full daylight as well as at night, though a hot afternoon lowers the contrast between an animal and the ground. Long daytime scouting burns battery too, which is a good reason to carry spares in a protector like this.
Are thermal scopes illegal for hunting?
Thermal scopes aren't illegal everywhere. The rules depend on your state, the species and the season, and some states limit thermal or night hunting to certain animals such as coyotes or hogs. Check your state wildlife agency's current regulations before you hunt with thermal.
