About the Nocpix ACE S60R Thermal Scope

About the Nocpix ACE S60R Thermal Scope

May 28th 2025

The Nocpix ACE series of thermal rifle scopes offer some of the best performance in the market for thermal optics, yet the differences between the models are not immediately apparent. This short post will break down some of the details of the Nocpix ACE S60r (and alternatives) for you.

What the Nocpix ACE Series Offers

First, let’s take a look at what the entire Nocpix ACE series of thermal scopes offers:

  • A self-developed Gen 2 HD thermal sensor.
  • Advanced Reality+ and Vision+ systems.
  • 35-60mm objective lenses with ocular zoom functionality.
  • AI image enhancement for a crystal clear sight picture.
  • Construction from high-strength aluminum alloy and IP67 rated to meet the worst elements head-on.
  • Ballistic calculation, shutterless operation, and recoil-activated video.
  • Robust power; an internal 4000 mAh battery backed up by an additional replaceable 18650.
  • Hunter-friendly features such as focus adjuster, charging cover, and a gallery feature for video playback.

Nocpix ACE Series

Specific to the Nocpix ACE S60r

The Nocpix ACE S60R is the heavy-hitter of the ACE series.

It offers the most sensitive thermal sensor with a resolution of 1280x1024 with a 12μm pixel pitch, paired with a NETD rating of 15 mK or less, offering the greatest thermal differential sensitivity and image clarity of the entire line, backed by Reality+ Imaging Enhancement that helps eliminate environmental temperature differential noise, for a clearer, surer picture. The AMOLED display features a Vision+ system with direct optical magnification - 2-24x in the Nocpix ACE S60r - that prevents blurring and distortion, even when zoomed way in.

The sight picture is exceptionally smooth, too, with a 50Hz frame rate that delivers a crisp, clear picture with effectively no lag, even when tracking fast moving prey.

The 60mm F1.0 objective lens allows 20% more light to reach the sensor and is made from high-transmittance elements and generates brighter, clearer images. The Nocpix ACE S60R also delivers up to a 14.7x11.7m FOV at 100m.

It also boasts an integrated laser rangefinder (LRF) with a 1200m range with true optical axis alignment, enabling rapid, precise distance measurements even at extended ranges.

The Nocpix ACE S60R also offers the best range in the series, with a maximum detection range of 3100m - nearly 2 miles, enabling engagement of targets at far off ranges.

Alternatives to the Nocpix ACE S60R

While the Nocpix ACE S60r offers the highest performance in the ACE series across the board, there are several other models in the series that offer many of the same features and comparable performance.

Nocpix L35

The Nocpix L35 is the most basic thermal scope in the Nocpix ACE series. It has a lower sensor resolution at 384x288 with the same pixel pitch of 12μm, with a slightly less sensitive (but still excellent) NETD rating of 18 mK or less.

It also has a slightly smaller objective lens, a 35mm F0.9 lens that delivers a 7.5x5.7m FOV at 100m, with less optical magnification power - 4-16x. It does however offer a 60Hz frame rate that delivers exceptionally smooth tracking.

It also does not have an integrated rangefinder and has a much shorter maximum detection range than the S60r, at 1800m, which is still more than a mile.

It is an excellent Nocpix thermal rifle scope if you don’t want to break the bank on an S60r, or if you don’t need all of the more advanced features offered by the S60r.

Nocpix H50

The Nocpix H50 offers a solid middle ground option between the ACE S60r and the L35. It has a 640x512 sensor with the same pixel pitch and NETD rating as the S60r, with a 50mm F0.9 objective lens and a 2600m detection range.

It also offers a 60Hz frame rate for smooth tracking, along with a 8.8x7.0m FOV at 100m and 3-24x magnification. If you need something a little more capable than the L35 but don’t want to shell out the dough for an S60r, the Nocpix H50 is a solid bet.

Nocpix H50R

Love the Nocpix H50 but need a thermal scope that offers those features, with an integrated laser rangefinder? Then the Nocpix H50R is the scope for you.

All other specifications of the H50R are the same as the H50, with the sole exception that it is outfitted with a 1200m laser rangefinder - with the same rangefinder specifications as those of the S60r.
