Nocpix has hit it out of the park again with the RICO 3 PRO H50R, a thermal scope that has incorporated several new and updated features to better serve the needs of night hunters around the country.
Here’s your primer. See if it answers your questions and if not get in touch with us.
Basic Specs
The Nocpix RICO 3 PRO H50R is a 640x512 50mm thermal scope with a 12μm thermal sensor and 3X base magnification. It also has a 2560x2560 AMOLED display.
Beyond the basics, there are some unique features that have upgraded this beyond the realm of a standard optic, making it one of the best thermal scopes out there right now. Here’s what you should know.
Industry-First Autofocus
The Nocpix RICO 3 PRO H50R sports “Autofocus Technology” that leverages data from the onboard laser rangefinder to produce a perfect, clear sight picture with the push of a button, eliminating most manual controls and calibration, and making this thermal scope much easier to use.
An Industry-Leading 1600-Yard LRF
The Nocpix RICO 3 PRO H50R is also equipped with a built-in 1600 yard laser rangefinder which outperforms previous models and towers over the competition. It enables fast, easy, and accurate estimations for range, giving hunters the freedom to take confident, ethical shots time and time again.
Ocular Zoom 2.0
Perhaps the defining characteristic of this Nocpix thermal scope is the fact that it utilizes true optical zoom, which it calls Ocular Zoom 2.0.
Whereas most thermal optics use digital zoom, wherein magnification is accomplished by using software to enlarge the image of the sight picture of the display, ocular zoom uses lenses to achieve the desired level of magnification.
The issue with digital zoom is that, while convenient (and practical at relatively low magnifications) a significant loss of detail on the sight picture is incurred if the feature is used to zoom in too far.
By contrast, optical zoom uses lenses to magnify the image, which does not result in a significant loss of quality in the sight picture. This makes it superior to digital zoom.
The Nocpix RICO 3 PRO H50R can leverage true ocular zoom to 2X, giving you the flexibility to avoid the use of digital zoom at relatively close ranges and enabling more accurate, confident shots on target.
Long Battery Life
Another great feature of this Nocpix thermal scope is that it uses Nocpix’s NBP-8 battery that is expressly designed for long night hunts. It can last up to 10 hours under ideal operating conditions, lasting through most nights, and even under less than ideal conditions it can last as long as 7. Plus, this thermal scope is rated down to -4℉, ensuring it can keep up with you even when the conditions don’t cooperate. All in all, it’s engineered to require fewer battery swaps when it matters most so you can keep your mind on hunting and not on the battery health of your scope.
Quick Detach Mounting
The Nocpix RICO 3 PRO H50R is also equipped with quick detach mounting functionality, making it easier to swap optics on your rifle or shotgun if you run different ones during nighttime and daylight hours.
Remote Control Functionality
This Nocpix thermal scope is also equipped with a remote control that enables you to control settings and functions with the push of a button, such as magnification adjustments, one-click ranging, and trigger instant autofocus, all without even touching the scope.

What Else This Nocpix Thermal Scope Offers
