The FLARE’s™ thermal technology puts heat to work by indicating when your barrel’s temperature can impact performance in several ways.
WHERE TO USE:
1- Take the guess work out of knowing when your barrel is safe to handle or store. When the color comes alive, don’t touch! When it goes dark, you know you’re safe.
2 – Heat creates headaches for precision shooters. By keeping the FLARE™ from changing, you know you’re firing under consistent conditions.
3 – Sighting in a cool barrel aids in consistent performance. As with precision users, keeping the FLARE™ from changing colors indicates you haven’t overheated your barrel during the sighting process.
HOW IT WORKS: The thermochromic infused silicone causes the color to change from dark to vibrant at approximately 131°F and above. The color will remain until the barrel temperature drops below 131°F, at which point FLARE™ will turn dark again, indicating the barrel is now cool enough to handle, store, or perform at its best.
***The Flare MINI Fits Barrels .675″ – 2″ in diameter. The Flare Micro Fits barrel 0.5″-0.7″ in diameter.***
INSTALLATION: The FLARE™ is designed to stretch to fit your application. Over-stretching can cause the ring to snap. When in doubt, remove any objects at the end of the barrel that may impede application. Place the FLARE™ over the barrel in the desired position. Close proximity to the gas block is preferable as this is often the hottest part of your barrel, but any exposed area will work. Replace your Flash hider or muzzle brake as directed by manufacturer.
NOTE: Extended operation over 450ºF can result in breakdown of thermochromic properties, and FLARE™ will remain in a colorized state.
⚠WARNING: IT’S NEVER SAFE TO ASSUME A FIREARM IS UNLOADED. ALWAYS UNLOAD FIREARMS BEFORE INSTALLATION TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DISCHARGE. EXERCISE CAUTION AROUND HOT BARRELS AS THEY MAY CAUSE BURNS OR DAMAGE TO INDIVIDUALS OR EQUIPMENT. AVOID DIRECT CONTACT WITH BARRELS AFTER FIRING.
⚠WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD – SMALL PARTS – KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
