The Merger LRF XQ35 is as compact as classic daytime binoculars ideal for persistence hunting. Being the lightest in the product line, Merger LRF XQ35 is convenient for game search and drive hunting. The balanced weight distribution of these binoculars means a uniform load in the hunter's hands for comfortable observation without fatigue – even from the least comfortable positions.
THERMALIMAGING
Classic binocular design
Merger LRF thermal imaging binoculars are built with the classic design of daytime binoculars. With a small form factor, these thermal imaging binoculars fit comfortably in the hand, but still offer appealing external aesthetics and exemplary ergonomics. The six function buttons are placed in the comfort access zone and the most used digital device functions are activated with a single touch.
Highly sensitive European-made thermal sensor < 25 mK NETD / 384x288 pixel @ 17 µm
The Merger LRF XQ35 is equipped with the highly sensitive < 25 mK NETD European-made Lynred sensor which qualitatively captures a useful signal under difficult observation conditions, when thermal contrast is low. The smallest temperature differences will be clearly visible during the rain, fog and high atmospheric humidity at the observation site.
Proximity sensor for covert use
Observation in the dark requires being covert, so that hunted animals are not alerted by your presence. Going to stand-by using Display Off feature is a usual way to prevent backlight from the eyepieces. To simplify this task Merger LRF has a built-in proximity sensor. It acts as a display switch for preventing backlight exposure in the dark. When the unit is taken away from the eyes, proximity sensor switches both displays off and when the unit is brought closer both displays are switched on offering excellent image quality.
Rugged magnesium alloy housing
Merger LRF is designed for constant, often hard use. A magnesium alloy housing is light and strong at the same time. The housing reliably protects the internal components of a thermal imaging device from shocks, drops, moisture, heat or cold. At the same time, a metal housing effectively removes the heat from electronics and increases consistency of the device operation during long-term observation.
Precise laser ranging up to 1000m
Understanding the target distance is an essential factor in making the right decisions. A built-in laser rangefinder with a range of up to 1 kilometre allows you to measure distances in single measurements and continuous scanning modes with an accuracy of ± 1 meters for quick and error-free assessment of the situation.
Combined dual battery system
The Merger LRF is powered with two rechargeable batteries: one built-in with a capacity of 4 Ah, the other replaceable with a capacity of 3.2 Ah. A single charge guarantees up to 11 hours of battery life. The embossment on the body of the replaceable battery for accurate determination of the correct position makes it possible to quickly and confidently replace a flat battery with a new one in complete darkness by touch.

3 levels of sensitivity amplification
Selection of the signal amplification level combined with new filtration algorithms with fine brightness and contrast adjustments offers the hunter great opportunities for long-range observation in diverse weather and temperature conditions. Amplification setting helps to define animal’s trophy features and ensures clear rendering of objects and background in the field of view.
Built-in photo and video recorder
The Merger LRF has a built-in video recorder. The internal memory of Merger LRF can store hours of video and tens of thousands of photos. One touch of a button is enough to take a photo of an interesting scene or start recording video.
Stream Vision 2. Wi-Fi integration with iOS and Android devices
Built-in Wi-Fi connects the Merger LRF to Android and iOS smartphones via the Stream Vision 2 mobile application. This opens up a wide range of options including wireless device software updates, real-time image transmission from the device to the smartphone screen, publication on social media of photo and video content captured by the device or transfer to messengers, remote control of digital device functions and access to the latest news from Pulsar. Moreover, registered users receive 16 GB of cloud storage for photos and videos recorded with the device.
Comfortable viewing experience
The Merger LRF binoculars’ optical design fully takes into account the nature of human vision. It is natural for a person to receive visual information through two visual channels simultaneously. Viewing with two eyes is less tiring than viewing with one. This means better detection of small or faint objects, and better performance in low-contrast scenarios than similar monocular thermal imaging devices with the same technical level. The interpupillary distance in the Merger LRF binoculars is adjustable from 62 to 74 mm in accordance with the individual characteristics of a particular user.
Fast aperture F35/1.0 germanium lens
Germanium F35/1.0 lens features high infrared transmission in the LWIR range. Due to the high precision manufacturing of the optical elements of the lens, the image generated by the Merger LRF XQ35 thermal imaging device sensor is distinguished for its clarity and detailing.
Dual Wi-Fi waveband support 2.4 / 5 GHz
In Merger LRF thermal imagers, the standard smartphone connection frequency range via a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi channel is complemented with an effective 5 GHz range. The 5 GHz connection offers better bandwidth, a faster data transfer rate, noise immunity and improved connection stability, resulting in more productive and easier operation of the thermal imager with a smartphone.

A choice of 8 colour palettes lets the user observe their field of view more effectively, allowing them to optimise the unit for specific tasks as well as react to changing observation conditions. White Hot, Black Hot and Red Hot are optimal for object detection, Rainbow and Ultramarine help increase chances for recognition & identification. Red Monochrome, Sepia and Violet are most suitable for long observation in the night.
IPX7 submersion waterproof rated
IPX7 waterproof-rated for protection from heavy rainfall, snow or other precipitation. The unit is designed to run flawlessly, even after submersion in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes.

Is the Merger LRF XQ35 a good thermal binocular for hunting?
It's a solid choice for hunters who cover ground. It's the lightest Merger LRF, runs up to 11 hours on its two batteries, and the sub-25mK sensor handles damp nights well. The 384x288 resolution is plenty for spotting and ranging at typical predator and hog distances; step up to a 640 model if you need more detail far out.
Are thermal binoculars worth it?
For long nights of glassing, most hunters find they are. Watching with both eyes causes less strain than a monocular, and small or faint heat signatures are easier to pick out. The Merger LRF XQ35 adds a rangefinder and a proximity sensor, so you can scan, range and lower it without the screens lighting up your face.
Can my phone camera do thermal imaging?
No. A phone camera sees visible light, not heat, so it can't show you a coyote in the dark. What the Merger LRF XQ35 can do is send its live thermal view to your phone over Wi-Fi through the Stream Vision 2 app, so you can watch or record on a bigger screen.
