Hunters use them to scan for game in the dark, check a field before walking in, and find a deer after the shot by its body heat. The ASP-Micro TM160's wide 24.7° view and 0.5x base magnification make it handy for close work like blood tracking and looking around camp.
AGM built the TM160 as an entry-level thermal, and it covers the basics well: a 160x120 sensor, up to 10 hours per charge, 8 GB of storage, Wi-Fi and a 3-year transferable warranty. It detects heat out to 250 m. For identifying animals farther out, a 384 sensor is the next step up.
Owning a thermal monocular is legal in the US. Hunting with one is regulated by each state, so check your state's rules on thermal optics and night hunting before you go out. Thermal devices also fall under US export rules, which is why we ship only to US addresses.
No. The TM160 is thermal only, meaning it reads heat instead of amplifying light. It works in total darkness, but it shows a heat picture rather than a normal image. If you want both in one handheld, the AGM Fuzion line adds a low-light camera next to the thermal sensor.
